Chapter I. Crimes Against the State

The crime of Treason shall consist of levying war against Carcassonne, or providing aid or support to any nation, region, government or organization which does the same.

The crime of Insurrection shall consist of any act which seeks to subvert or overthrow the lawful government of Carcassonne. Sedition shall consist of any speech which advocates for the subversion or overthrow of the lawful government of Carcassonne.

The crime of Espionage shall consist of the distribution of classified information without official sanction.

The crime of Impersonating an Official shall consist of the fraudulent presentation of one’s self as a government official or military officer of Carcassonne.

The crime of Electoral Fraud shall consist of the knowing distribution of false information about the timing, venue, method, qualifications, candidates or results of any election for a government office of Carcassonne.

Corruption shall consist of abusing the powers of any government or military office with the intent of securing personal gain.

The crime of Fraud Against the State shall consist of obtaining any material benefit or advantage from the government or military of Carcassonne by means of knowing deception.
Chapter II. Crimes Against Justice
- The crime of Perjury shall consist of knowingly giving false testimony in any criminal investigation or judicial proceeding.
- The crime of Evidence Tampering shall consist of the knowing alteration, fabrication, concealment or destruction of evidence in any criminal investigation or judicial proceeding.
- The crime of Contempt shall consist of misconduct in Court including frivolous charges and motions, deception whether knowing or reckless, and ignoring reasonable Court directives on the part of a party to or counsel in a case.
Chapter III. Crimes Against the Nation
- The crime of Invasion of Privacy shall consist of the distribution of information which can be used to establish the real life identity of any nation, unless said nation has sanctioned the distribution.
- The crime of Fraud shall consist of obtaining any material benefit or advantage from another nation by means of knowing deception.
- The crime of Harassment shall consist of any repeated and unwelcome speech which profoundly discomforts another nation.
- The crime of Defamation shall consist of any speech which knowingly promotes falsehoods regarding another nation with the intent to damage the reputation of said nation.
Chapter IV. Crimes Against the Peace
- The crime of Nuisance shall consist of any excessive or repetitive speech which hinders the ability of other nations to exercise their own speech.
- The crime of Incitement to Hatred shall consist of any speech which dehumanizes or advocates violence against any person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, sexuality, gender identity or religion, or speech which advocates for any organization or ideology which does the same.
Chapter V. Supremacy
- Any speech or act which violates the rules of NationStates, the terms of use of Discord or real life law shall be considered a crime under this code.
Chapter VI. Conspiracy
- The crime of Conspiracy shall consist of planning, attempting, or aiding in the commission of any other crime under this criminal code.
Chapter VII. Definitions
- For the purposes of this criminal code, “Speech” shall be defined as: a. Messages posted on regional message boards; b. Messages sent by in-game telegram; c. Messages posted on Discord; d. Messages posted on off-site forums; and e. National titles, flags, mottos, currencies and animals.
